    This CD is an artistic creative representation and interpretation of our ceremonial icaro's (shamanic songs). When we play them live, they are brought acoustic and often with no more than our voices and a guitar. For this CD we amused ourselves by creatively improving the songs with spheres.

    This CD can also assist you in learning the lyrics and melodies, which is nice when you come to one of our concerts or singing circles, like a cacao ceremony. Together we join forces and bring light into every dark place. The tone in which the songs are played and written, is the same as the live acoustic versions.

This icaro has several meanings for us and we like to give the traditional meaning and text as well as our own adaptation and creation. Traditionally it is a Shipibo Icaro which we learned from our
Maestra Ema Drolma Mata and after her passing with Don Daniel Arevallo. According to tradition, it is a cleansing icaro that brings the person a new consciousness, a new breath and strength into the body and mind.
The melody on guitar and the musical vocal lines arose as a connection between the two of us in a ceremonial work. A clean-up of the old and receiving of the new. This song also caries the name 'opening of the heart' for us, because this is also what it did for us. With this intention we still sing this song today, with a warm heart to ourselves, for each other and for the whole world.

Nuncan jacon icaroy, nuncan jacon icaroy: good soft icaro
Cushi, cushi icaroy: strengthening icaro
Tambohuasca icaroy: the Tambo is the river that leaves the Andes and is also the source area of the
Amazon determines. Huasca is Quechua for the vine. Tambo is also a word used in the jungle to go into seclusion, living alone and withdrawn life, reflecting and learning from the spirits.
