about

This is a healing icaro for invocation of tribes, groups, peoples all over the world. Usually with the intention to
summon the spirits of the ancestors. And this to learn from them, to feel their legacy. We ask for their help by
accompanying us with their wisdom. "Tribus was for me (Marijn) the first song I composed on the N'Goni." (The N'Goni is a West African harp/guitar painted on the CD cover). "For me (Juanita) this song was the starting point for a much greater work. While singing along to the sounds of the N'Goni, a deep connection with Marijn was
created, opening up a new world for me which started in 2014 as The White Arrow. This song has been accompanying us for years during ceremonies. It has become an icaro that calls for the letting go of the grief of the past and to stand here and now in your power. We made a very musical 'heartbeat' version for the CD to emphasize the
atmosphere. A giant canoe takes you across the waves of the past all the way back and forth. We learned this song for our Maestra Ema’a, but the song is registered to Herbert Quinteros (owner of the song).
