HIDDEN IN THE DENSE JUNGLE of the Peruvian Amazon is a steaming, churning river 9 km long and 25 meters wide: The Boiling River or as called by the locals: Shanay Timpishka.
Year after year we return to the Boiling River. Every time we return home, a deep loss overtakes us, a longing to return, ... to her. Every day we spend hours by the steaming river, bathed in its vapors. Fall asleep every night with the swirling percussion next to our sleeping place. Seeing, hearing, feeling, drinking and bathing the water,... Anchoring the spirit in our body.
This time we were whispered to take the spirit of the water home, but how? A bottle of water is ready in no time. During the recordings that I made of the ceremonial nights with Maestro Flores Icaro chants, I always noticed that the river next to the Maloka was so overwhelmingly present. How could I bring out the chants better. And then it became clear. SHE wanted to make her heard to the world. We set to work to capture the river in all its splendor. Her strength at the 6 meter high waterfall, swirling and steaming, but also her softness in the form of rippling streams between the rocks, overrun by dragonflies and butterflies. The morning songs of the many birds by the river as well as the crickets, bats and many spirits during the night were recorded. These recordings are all made from the Mayantuyacu center. This place is a home for very powerful spirits and therefore these recordings are definitely a special communication with the spirits.

Dit is geen liedjes-cd maar een natuurgeluiden cd!
Verborgen in de dichtje junlge van het Peruaanse Amazonegebied ligt een stomende, kolkende rivier met een lengte van 9 km en een breedte van 25 meter: The Boiling River of zoals de locals haar noemen: Shanay Timpishka.
Jaar na jaar keren we terug naar de Boiling River. Telkens we weer naar huis keren overvalt ons een diep gemis, een verlangen om terug te keren, ...naar haar. Elke dag spenderen we uren bij de stomende rivier, badend in haar dampen. Elke nacht inslapen met het kolkende slagwerk naast onze slaapplek. Het water zien, horen, voelen, drinken en in baden,… De spirit verankeren in ons lichaam. Deze keer werd er ons ingefluisterd om de spirit van het water mee te nemen naar huis, maar hoe? Een flesje water is zo op. Tijdens de opnames die ik maakte van de ceremoniële nachten met Maestro Flores Icaro gezangen, merkte ik telkens op dat de rivier naast de Maloka zo overstemmend aanwezig was. Hoe kon ik de gezangen beter naar voor brengen. En toen werd het helder. ZIJ wou haar laten horen aan de wereld. We gingen aan de slag om de rivier in al haar pracht en praal vast te leggen. Haar kracht bij de 6 meter hoge waterval, kolkend en stomend, maar ook haar zachtheid in de vorm van kabbelende stroompjes tussen de rotsen, overspoeld door libellen en vlinders. De ochtendgezangen van de vele vogels bij de rivier alsook de krekels, vleermuizen en vele spirits tijdens de nacht werden opgenomen Deze opnames zijn allemaal gemaakt vertrekkende vanuit het Mayantuyacu centrum. Deze plek is een huis voor zeer krachtige spirits en daarom zijn deze opnames zeker een bijzondere communicatie met de spirits.
