about

This song was created while learning the Shipibo language. The Shipibo-Conibo are an indigenous people living along the banks of the Ucayali River in the rainforest of Peru. They are true masters when it comes to working with the sacred plants and are known for their beautiful special icaro's and the world-famous woven motifs on canvases and painted on pottery. The song calls for you to open the visions that will guide you deeper inside, to the place beyond judgments and thoughts, to the centre of the universe, deep within you. Many of the icaro's are suggestive, because you are the centre of the universe and experience everything from there. They are often sung in the 'here and now' what you are experiencing or what is happening at that time. The voice of the Maestro who sings is like your own voice speaking to yourself.
