    This CD is an artistic creative representation and interpretation of our ceremonial icaro's (shamanic songs). When we play them live, they are brought acoustic and often with no more than our voices and a guitar. For this CD we amused ourselves by creatively improving the songs with spheres.

    This CD can also assist you in learning the lyrics and melodies, which is nice when you come to one of our concerts or singing circles, like a cacao ceremony. Together we join forces and bring light into every dark place. The tone in which the songs are played and written, is the same as the live acoustic versions.

In this song we welcome, honour, thank and celebrate the spirit of the Ayahuasca. There are songs that evoke the spirit of this medicine and in a way this song does. But here the intention lies mainly on giving thanks to this master plant teacher. Singing this 'icaro' brings joy and togetherness among the people and evokes a deep gratitude for the beautiful work that this spirit has been doing with humanity for over 15000 years.
Together we chant 'liberation', which stands for the affirmation: I free myself 'here and now'. This icaro came to me (Marijn) on one of the ceremonial circles for men when we expressed our gratitude. The text is partly in Shipibo and Ashaninka. Literal meaning of words applies less here. In an Icaro, a word will often have the meaning of a thousand words a whole. A few words can be a giant energetic stronghold because they open a gate, a new reality.
